| The Academy National and International Level Senior, Junior, Novice and Pre Novice Individual Athletes and Groups are coached under the direction of coach Megan Arnold (NCCP Level 3 Coach, Brevet 4 Judge). Megan’s coaching style is nurturing and supportive, but does not dismiss the importance of technically sound training in the fundamentals of rhythmic gymnastics. Megan's nineteen year track record of producing BC Champions, Regional Champions and National Champions speaks volumes about the high standards, expertise and inexhaustible creativity Megan brings to the gymnasts she trains.
Amongst Megan’s past successes is coach of the 2001 Pre Novice Canadian National Champion Group, 2003 Novice Canadian National Champion Group, 2005 Canadian Junior National Team in Group, 2005 Senior National Team in Group. During 2005 Megan coached the Canadian Senior National Team Group to a Silver Medal at the Pre-Pan American Championships in Brazil and a silver and bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio, Brazil. During 2006 Megan coached the Senior National Team Group to 9th Place AA at the Grand Prix in Thaïs, France and 8th Place in Hoop and Clubs in the finals. At the 2006 Canadian National Championships The Academy Senior Group was named the “Core Group” in training for the 2007 Pan American Games in Brazil placing 3rd AA and the 2007 World Championships in Patras, Greece where they placed 17th AA in the World and were named first alternates from the America's for the 2008 Olympic Games. Megan was named the head coach for the Canadian National Senior Group program which was centralized in Vancouver August 2006 to Septmeber 2007..
National Level members train Monday through Friday, after school hours or attend Magee Secondary Sport Program in order to train in our early afternoon session (12:30-5 daily). |
