the north side of University Boulevard next to the Aquatic
Centre.

Boulevard across from the Student Union Building (SUB) and the
Student Recreation Centre (SRC).

History / Points of Interest
Year Erected: 1950
The War Memorial Gymnasium was constructed in 1951 after
much student initiative. It won a Massey Silver Medal for
Architectural Design. The Empire Pool (now part of the Aquatic
Centre) was added to the Gymnasium in 1954 for the British
Empire Games.
